Urban Decay Disco Queen
Happy Wednesday. I recently received this lovely surprise from Urban Decay. I don't own many products by them but have always been attracted to their beautiful collaborations and shades.
This is their Disco Queen Collection that released January 26 at Sephora and on their website here. I am a bit late on reviewing this but I still wanted to get the word out and give my opinions and thoughts on these products in case you were curious.
If you are part of the beauty community over on instagram or maybe checking out beauty vids on youtube, you have seen this packaging. Urban decay Pr team sent this awesome little bundle but I wanted to inform you that they are not sold in stores like this. They are sold individually.
The Disco Queen powder highlighter is $29
The Disco Stick cream highlighter is $26
I can simply not get enough of the whole unicorn, mermaids, and holo trend. This holographic packaging is lovely to look at. The compact disco queen highlighter comes in a clear plastic casing with large UD letters in holographic print.
The disco stick, which I couldn't capture well in a photo, comes in a clear holographic tube. When the sun hits it just right you can see the lovely colors.
Disco Queen Highlighter
Do not be scared away by the purple look. I know I was thrown off a little by it.
As you can see in the swatch it has a shift to it. A very sheen baby blue with a very light violet. It is very soft to the touch, doesn't kick up any powder and the pan is large enough for you to dip any brush or finger.
Described on the Sephora website:
Take your glow into the next dimension with this lightweight, insanely pretty powder that creates a luminous, holographic sheen. Use a little for a more subtle glow, or build and layer to achieve a high-watt highlight. UD infused this velvety formula with lustrous pearl pigments. There’s never any white cast—just a pretty, luminous glow. And because this formula isn’t pressed, the feel is ultra-lightweight.
The stick is a sheer one and this one does contain glitter. It doesn't feel harsh at all when you apply. It's very soft but I found this one to not show up as stunning as the other. It is more subtle and perfect for maybe applying in cupids bow or on other parts of face you want a bit of shine. I used it as a base to the other highlighter and you do get a slightly more intense glow but I don't think I would have purchased this one myself.
As described on the Sephora website:
With Holographic Disco Highlighter Stick, shimmer goes straight-up psychedelic. It’s laced with traveling pigments that seem to change color before your eyes. Create a hyper-dimensional glow for a luminous effect that’s almost otherworldly. This silky, lightweight formula glides on, flashes down, and has an airy finish—so it won’t interfere with your complexion makeup.
I do recommend the powder one (The disco queen). I absolutely loved that one. If you are looking for a unique highlighter I would go for it. Its definitely beautiful.
I posted a photo of a makeup look I did the other day. It definitely goes on gorgeous. Nothing scary or whacky. I paired it with a purple eye shadow look and lip. Just having fun and stepping out of my comfort zone.
A big thank you to Urban Decay for the opportunity to try these products. As always this post is my honest opinion on the products I received.
Have a lovely day
XOXO RUBI
