My Affordable Favorites of 2017

Hey Everyone. Happy New Year! For the First Blog post of 2018 I decided to share my favorite affordable brands. I could have categorized it under drugstore but I will say Online brands made a huge impact this year.

So strap in because here is a little of both online and drugstore faves I was loving in 2017 and can definitely recommend for 2018

Colourpop Cosmetics

(Web and now in Sephora)

No surprise here! A very affordable Makeup brand that is currently online for over three years and has just recently been added to Sephora. With so many releases Collections, and products They have reached over millions of Fans and addicts.

What products do I recommend?:

Well first there Super Shock Shadows. The softest and longest lasting shadows with so many shades and finishes. You want matte? They have matte! you want glitter? They have that! You want duo -chrome? Yup they have that too!

2017 was also the year they released their first palette. The Yes Please palette and the other 12 pan palettes retail for an affordable $16. Find the perfect transitioning shades in some and a range of mattes, shimmer, metallic, satin, and duo chromes. I highly suggest the yes please and double entendre. Perfect for everyday wear. The shades are pigmented and though there is a little fall out these lovely shadows blend well and last all  night.

Known for their amazing $6.50 Liquid Lipticks These are only a few of the many I have collected over time. The have ultra mattes, ultra satin, ultra glossy, and blotted. The mattes were a bit disappointing because they were so drying on the lips. But since then I have hear the formula has changed. Their is almost little to no transfer with the mattes and the shade range is amazing. I highly recommend trying the ultra blotted lips and the Ultra Satin. My favorites are UBL Zuma and Doozy. USL Calypso and Frick and Frack. 

And one of the Final ones I highly recommend trying especially if you are looking for a dupe for the tarte concealer is the Colourpop No Filter Concealer $6.  

This amazing full coverage concealer has a large wand perfect for application. Formula is a little thick but For those who love to bake (set and contour) This product is amazing and a very affordable dupe.

Wet N Wild

Wet N wild has been a favorite of mine for many years. The most!!! affordable drugstore brand out there that till the day continues to keep their prices low and surprise us with their new products. Their liquid Catsuit lipsticks are a must. Packaging is very similar to Jeffrey Stars and

the product itself is not very drying on the lip like most mattes and the shades are vibrant or soft but very pigmented.

The metal brushes were released for the holiday season but everyone including I went crazy searching for them when they were on sale. Can you believe 10 brushes for $15 (on sale, $30 regular price) they feel high quality and work amazing when blending out product.

Have you taken a peak at their recent eyeshadow palettes? Perfect dupes for the anastasia Beverly palettes. The ones in the picture were released a while back. (You can find them in a previous blog post as well) The shades are pigmented and blend well too.

Avon

(Independent retailers or Online)

2017 was also an amazing year for me. I received so many thoughtful packages from Avon. They helped me discover some amazing products like their lovely True Color Lipsticks. So many shades to choose from as well as they carry many finishes. If you need a hint of color go for their  sheer, a hint of shimmer, a matte, or a glossy finish..

Beauty Creations

Another new to me brand that I highly recommend is Beauty Creations. $5 lipsticks and a $16 stunning pallet, The Tease Me Collection has surpassed my expectations. A variety of nudes and reds with Mac Like bullet tubes and a very sexy palette that I have found to work just as amazing as a $40 high end brands. Where can you find these? Online of course and even in most of your local trendy clothes shops. Definitely check this one out! 

Coastal Scents

Searching to fill up your empty Magnetic palette with Affordable single eye shadows? Check out Coastal scents Hot Pots. I recently placed an order when they had these babies on sale for .97 cents. Yup! Super affordable. There will be some hits and misses but for the price it never hurts to give them a chance and you might find some favorites too!

Makeup Revolution

So there is some hate swirling around with this brand but let me tell you why I will continue to purchase. This particular brand and a few others have taken High end brand ideas and products and they have created highly similar products. I can see why there are fans that are upset but In the world we live in we can't all keep up with the trends. We want that new trendy palette but just cant afford it. Dupes are our next best thing and as long as the prices are not similar then why care. If you can afford that high end brand then great for you but for those of us who cant let us enjoy it please.

With that said I will recommend is their highlighters! Amazing stuff. A little goes a long way.

Julie G:

Cant forget to share my favorite nail polishes too! Julie G is available at Rite aid or online at Jesses Girl Website. At only $4 they have great pigmentation. (You might only need one coat with some shades.) You wont find all the shades in stores because they usually set up a display of shades for the season or of the latest collection. I'm constantly stalking their display to see what new shade I will grab.  

Profusion Cosmetics

Another amazing Brand that has kept their prices affordable and is always bringing out some amazing travel friendly makeup, gift sets, or full face palettes with brushes. Profusion Cosmetics surprised me this year with their holiday collection featuring this lovely palette. The sultry palette has a beautiful range of shades and they all swatched and wore well on the eyes. You can know even find them at target so don't pass this one up! Everything has a price range under $20.

Lip Smacker Tsum Tsums

These little ones bring the child out of me. They are so cute and feature some cute characters from Disney Movies. They are collectible lip balms and each character features a unique flavor. Retail Price Around $5. Have you tried these before?

Foundation:

And I could not end it without sharing my affordable foundation favorites. Rimmel London is great for both matte and oily skin. It doesn't hang on to my dry spots and it offers great medium to full coverage. As for the Milani there is not a wide shade range but I love their full coverage. It does go on a bit thick but it's perfect for hiding acne or acne marks.
