Colourpop Limited edition Holiday Collection
Happy Holidays. I'm back with another limited edition holiday collection that was released around the end of November I believe. Colourpop wants us broke but looking good. Am I right?
This collection is stunning and the packaging again always gets me. This collection was released in three sets all packaged in cardboard vinyl Cd's. One set includes matte lippie stix the other hosts some lipglosses, and the one I picked up contains 6 eyeshadows. I believe all shades are new.
Along with the sets they also released some new ultra matte and satins and eyeshadows that are being sold separately. And since it took me a while to get this blog post up the eyeshadow set is currently available as singles as well. There are a whole bunch to name so if you would like to check the collection out I will leave the link here. The packaging this time was changed. For the ultra mattes and satins they were placed in frosted tubes and as well as everything else in this collection, they are all black packaging. In my opinion I am all for the change up. It is nice to see new pretty packaging.
I only own one of the single liquid lipsticks thanks to octoly and colourpop free for my honest opinion. So my honest opinion is the shade did seem a little darker then I expected once it was in my hands and on my lips. Embellish is described as a blackened brown.
Above is a lip swatch. If you can tell there is a bit of my lip color peeking through in the center of my lips. It takes a few layers and like most dark ultra mattes you will get a bit of awkward crumbling after a while of wear. There are other gorgeous colors in the collection that I have heard nothing but great things about so be disappointed or drawn away just because the quality of this shade.
This eyeshadow set called Never Not Chilling, on the other hand is hands down so stunning and the selection of shades deserves a 5 star rating. The set was $30. ($5 per shadow and currently sold out but available as singles) Is Worth every penny if you ask me. I was a bit disappointed that the inside did not spin. Meh!!! It would have been a really nice touch.
The set is made up of 4 metallic, 1 satin, and 1 matte.
I love when they include a matte brown shade. It helps to not have to reach out for a matte crease shadow in another palette. You basically have a whole look in one.
My top Favorite has to be Babykins. This one is a deepened metallic purple with violet glitter. This one makes for a fun eyeshadow look.
my second most favorite of the bunch is Thirsty Girl described as a metallic bronze with gold glitter. I tried this one on the eyes and will admit it goes on very faint and I think I saw more of a gold glitter finish. You would probably have to use a base for the bronze to show up.
And the other lovely four.
counter clock wise is
Fairfax, described as a matte black brown. Works great on the outer corners of the eye and blends heavenly. You can use a light touch for a softer shade of brown.
Patch work, described as a deep metallic turquoise with violet and blue glitter. I did not see any hint of violet but I did see a little bit of silver in there.
Peekaboo is described as Metallic ivory with Silver glitter. This shade would go lovely on the inner crease or under the brow for a little touch of highlight.
Desert is described as a satin peachy tan. This shade would work lovely as a base or even on the lid with Fairfax on the crease to create a lovely soft glam or every day look.
Above I only had time this month to create one look using two shades from the set. I used Fairfax on the lid and topped it with a little bit of Thirsty girl for a fun eyeshadow look. I still want to remind you that colourpop eyeshadows are a little hard to work with and do take a bit of practice. I like to start off by placing the eyeshadow on the lid with my finger and then blending it out with a soft fluffy brush. I am not an expert so if you know better ways please do list them down below. Thank you again for stopping by and checking my blog out. I hope you are able to get all your shopping done and have an amazing and wonderful time with your families this Christmas. Ill probably have one or two more post up before the end of the year so I just want to also remind you to please drive carefully and safe. Don't Drink and drive. Have a very merry Christmas!
